Lejon of California has been established as a family owned and operated company for over three generations. Began in 1965 by John Shirinian, Lejon was positioned as a quality resource, specializing in the manufacture of moderate to upper-end men’s belts. Distribution was primarily in the Western United States. By 1984, Lejon sales were expanding to the Midwest and East Coast markets. In 1987, Lejon began production of women’s belts for quality department stores under their own private labels. In 1998 John Shirinian, the grandson of the founder, negotiated the relationship between Lejon & Remo Tulliani, allowing the best belt manufacturer and the best men's accessory designer to join together, and become one of the strongest belt resources for retailers throughout the country.
Moving into the Millennium, Lejon & Tulliani became one of the most sought after manufacturer & design teams, for private label products. With this powerful combination of Lejon's quality products & distribution, along with Tulliani’s vision for the market and design, Lejon/Tulliani create and manufacture for over 40 private label companies.
For almost fourty years, our reputation had been manufacturing quality products with timely delivery. Thus gaining Lejon access to becoming one of the original forty members of MAGIC.
Lejon/Tulliani uses the finest material available: leather from Italy, England and the U.S.A. Men’s buckles are solid brass. The majority of the women’s buckles are from Europe. Lejon men’s belts, women’s belts and men’s wallets are produced in our factory in Corona, California. Over two hundred fifty thousand units are maintained in our finished goods inventory.
Lejon employs about 40 people at its 35,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Corona, California. Various machines are used at our Factory for many various applications. Lejon uses Italian hydraulic presses, German skivers, sewing machines and strap cutters, as well as American bevellers and combining machines.
The Lejon Tulliani men’s belt lines have a selection of over 500 SKU’s. The women’s belt line has an assortment of over 200 SKUs.
Lejon Tulliani transacts business via EDI with many of the larger retailers. This experience with EDI, and with production of UPC labels for our products is of great help to our larger customers who have automated their inventory and purchase order systems. We have also developed private label programs for both our men and women’s products. Our specialized services increase our customer’s gross margins and stock turn. Many customers especially like our EDI “quick response” program.
Lejon/Tulliani merchandise and design departments work with buyers and merchandise managers, in tailoring style selection, price-point, marketing and merchandising requirements for personalized specifications. Our six-month and yearly belt programs provide stock-to-sales ratios, stock turns, gross margin analysis and weekly tracking and monitoring of sales.
Lejon complies with all Federal and State safety codes and regulations. All of our machines have proper safety devices installed and are maintained to further protect each of our employees. Lejon uses only water-based adhesives and edge paints in order to protect our environment and our employees.
